Canyon.cc is an independent, ad-free editorial project about canyoning. This page explains, in plain language, what data is collected when you visit and the choices you have. It is kept deliberately short and honest.

Who runs this site

Canyon.cc is published by RÉAUMUR SAS. The site has no affiliation with any bicycle brand or manufacturer; “canyon” here means a gorge cut by water. For any question, write to hello@canyon.cc.

What we collect ourselves

Very little. The site is a set of static pages with no accounts, no newsletter and no contact form. We do not ask for, or store, personal information. Standard server logs may be kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.

Advertising

There is none. This site carries no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links — no ad network, no ad cookies, no advertising identifiers.

Audience measurement & cookies

Exactly one thing is measured here: roughly how many people read these pages, using Google Analytics. Nothing is stored on your device until you say yes — the banner on your first visit is a genuine choice, and declining is a normal outcome, not a nag to be repeated.

If you accept: two cookies (_ga and _ga_WJPS7E5NSV) let Google Analytics tell a returning reader from a new one. They expire after two years and hold a random identifier — no name, no email, nothing you typed.
If you decline: no cookie is written and nothing is stored on your device. The site behaves identically.
Either way: your IP address is used in transit to estimate a country and is not stored, no data feeds advertising or personalisation, nothing is sold or shared with advertisers, and there is no tracking across other websites.
The measurement is operated by Google, whose practices are described in Google’s privacy & terms.

Changed your mind? Use the Cookie choices link at the bottom of any page to reopen the banner and accept or decline again. Declining after having accepted stops any further measurement; you can also clear this site’s cookies in your browser, or install Google’s opt-out add-on to stop it everywhere.
